  • Trunk: grey bark, longitudinally fissured, broadly furrowed
  • Leaves: fan-shaped, leathery, coarse, up to 10 cm long, notched in the middle, strikingly yellow in autumn
  • Fruits/seeds: plum-like yellow, strong unpleasant odour
