Nach verschiedenen Überlieferungen wurden hier zum Tode verurteilte Frauen, also Diebinnen und Ehebrecherinnen, ertränkt, bzw. mussten ohne Nahrung und Wasser in einem ähnlichem Käfig zu Grunde gehen.
