It is the only public garden in the New York metropolitan area practicing a unique combination of classic horticultural craftsmanship and daring design. Wave Hill’s 28-acre site includes gardens, greenhouses and an 8-acre woodland.” in the NatureSpots App on 14.09.2022

Animals spotted by Chris Slattery: “A quaint seaside escape, City Island feels like no other place within the city limits. It is loaded with sea gulls. The Bronx fishing village is full of yacht clubs and waterfront restaurants. It’s popular with visitors during the warmer months for its laidback vibe, fresh seafood dining options and range of activities—including scuba diving.” in the NatureSpots App on 15.09.2022

Animals spotted by Chris Slattery: ““(Meleagris ocellata) is a species of turkey residing primarily in the Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico, as well as in parts of Belize and Guatemala. A relative of the North American wild turkey (Meleagris gallopavo), it was sometimes previously considered in a genus of its own (Agriocharis), but the differences between the two turkeys are currently considered too small to justify generic segregation. It is a relatively large bird, at around 70–122 cm (28–48 in) long and an average weight of 3 kg (6.6 lb) in females and 5 kg (11 lb) in males.“ Wikipedia” in the NatureSpots App on 13.09.2022
