Other amphibian spotted by Karen Guy: “Photo taken late last year. Had several hangers & old mugs with a couple of plants in water for a few years. 2 months after the 2019 Black Summer season that I first found frogs sheltering in. Used tank water to refresh every week or 2. Up until this winter chytrid decimation, had been a fairly consistent variety of frogs sheltering. I have more photos of such if any interested. A long period with none occupied from late autumn? Eventually read about the chytrid decimation. I was devestasted to realise that the shelters might have contributed to a spread of the fungus here. I figured, dry & terribly unusually low humidity as it was, for so long, it was probably best any potentially infected amphibian did not have access to these shelters. Best they die out under a bush & just hope some clean frogs survived the so dry cold. So I removed all water hanger & mug shelters. Just put a few out now it's warmer.” in the ClimateWatch App on 21.11.2021
