Dabei stellten sie fest, dass viele der Knochen untypisch für die wahrscheinlich auf zwei Beinen gehenden Plateosaurier waren, und einer bisher unbekannten Art angehören mussten. Die neue Art wurde Tuebingosaurus maierfritzorum genannt und ging, nach derzeitigem Wissensstand, auf vier Beinen. So sind für die Fundstelle jetzt zwei Arten von Sauriern nachgewiesen.
