Skulptur spotted by Franz Müller: “Intensiv in eine aufgeschlagene Zeitung vertieft steht der überaus schlanke „Zeitungsleser“ vor dem Aalener Rathaus. Aus Anlass des 50. Schubart-Literaturpreises 2005 schenkte der Bildhauer Karl Ulrich Nuss die lebensgroße Bronzeplastik der Stadt. Ursprünglich stand er genau gegenüber, um an die ehemalige Stierlinsche Buchdruckerei und die seit 1837 dauernde Zeitungstradition in Aalen zu erinnern. Doch Vandalen hatten ihn aus der Verankerung gerissen. Nach der Restauration fand er seinen Platz vor dem Rathaus. Der Zeitungsleser symbolisiert wie einst der Aalener Dichter Schubart den bewussten Zeitgenossen, der sich für die Ereignisse in der Gemeinde und in der Gesellschaft interessiert und einsetzt.” in the Landauf, LandApp BW App on 20.12.2021
