Brush-turkey spotted by Chris-M: “Colin ascends the stairs after losing a confrontation with another male turkey at the bottom of the stairs. The other male still has a fully extended wattle and Colin’s has been reducing for some weeks. I wonder what this indicates. Is it because the other male is younger and has stronger hormones which extend his wattle for longer while Colin is getting closer to or is in ‘middle age’ when perhaps the hormones gradually reduce over the years? Does anyone know?” in the Big City Birds App on 31.12.2022
