Other bird spotted by ednaward: “The Raven was making so much noise but even several Noisy Miners didn’t seem able to locate it in the tree. I noticed it just before it flew out, still very noisy.” in the Big City Birds App on 09.11.2021

Other bird spotted by Lupin: “A flock of 1-12 funereal cockatoos has been spending much of the day harvesting pine nuts (pinus pinea) and green apricot kernels from the two trees in my backyard for the last 2 weeks. They seem to most prefer the young green cones. They also came about this time last year, but for only a a few hours over handful of days. As the pine cones have been emptied, their numbers have diminished. They seem to be always in even numbered groups, 12, 8 and 4. They haven’t come on hot days (over 25 degrees). They are very people wary but do spend time on low branches and on the ground. They’ve drunk water from a bird bath. Yesterday I chased a stalking neighbourhood cat away from the flock. They weren’t making cat warning calls as far as I could tell, and did not seem to be aware of the cat. Today there is only one, a male (pink eye rim). I’m hoping the others are OK.” in the Big City Birds App on 09.11.2021
