Sulphur-crested Cockatoo spotted by Ian: “We had some cockatoos on the balcony when we a new bird visited. It stayed away from the others but when they left it came onto our balcony and just hung around for 30mins or more. It looked really sick so we called WIRES and they said it had Beak and Feather disease and recommended we catch it and take it to our local vet. We managed to throw a towel over it and put it in a box. It made some horrible distress calls and all the cockatoos in the area were flying around screeching. The vet euthanised it to protect the other birds in the area” in the Big City Birds App on 16.02.2022
